Don’t bomb that photo

This couple was having a perfectly respectable cake fight, when …cakefight_5366

positioning himself squarely between the bride and groom. It took an hour of Photoshopping to clone him out. Sometimes, it’s worth it; other times, not. It depends on the image.photobombshop2_5376

Hand to hand and heart to heart

Some of our best ideas for creative shots come from our clients, and we love that! Judi and Tiera, married this July on Cape Cod, had seen a photograph similar to this one when they were researching wedding poses. We tried it, and it worked! I love the way Judi’s lei wristlet adds a pop of color.

It’s the little things

Why is wedding photography so much fun? In part, because it combines several genres into one: portraits, landscapes, events, and even fine art photography. Capturing the charming and often overlooked details of the setting really floats our boat. We love the symbolism of this pair of ducks setting off on their own adventure together. The romance of black and white

The romantic appeal of black and white never goes out of style. We always present several b&w images to our clients, who seem to love its nostalgic yet timeless look. (Hannah Benoit photograph)

One of our favorite techniques is retaining the bouquet’s color while turning everything else to black and white. The color really pops! (Hannah Benoit photograph)
